Abalone was invented in 1987 by Laurent Levi and Michel Lalet.

Rules

Abalone is played on a hexagonal board.

MOVE

Players move in turn, black begins. The player may slide 1,2 or 3 stones in any direction, not more than one space.

Valid Slides

3 stones slide
2 stones slide
1 stone slide

Push

If your stones are numerical superior to your opponent's stones then you may do push.

Valid Pushes

Ejection

A stone is ejected when it's pushed off the board.

GOAL

The object of the game is to eject six of the opponent's stones from the board.
